The alarm clock went off at six in the morning. Paul wearily raised his hand out from under the covers and blindly searched for the noise maker. Its ringing was getting on his nerves. When he finally grabbed hold of the clock, he tossed it across the room smashing it against the wall. Paul didn't want to get up he was having a wonderful dream about being a millionaire with girls floundering all around him. He slowly rose from his bed and rubbed his eyes. Looking out the window he noticed that the sun hadn’t even risen yet. Still feeling a bit groggy Paul shuffled out of his room and across the hall to the bathroom to splash some cold water on his face hoping the water would help wake him up. It only worked a little bit. Paul dried off his face and went downstairs to the kitchen. Paul’s mother was in the kitchen standing over the stove humming loudly to herself. Normally when Paul comes down for breakfast she is more put together. Today however she was in her bathrobe and curlers.
